I am trying to re-open [info]lit_library again.

It is a community where the common theme is a love for books and writing. Members are placed into one of four teams (the Romantics, the Victorians, the Moderns, and the Contemporaries) where they will work with their team members to collect points. Every few months a chapter of the community will close and the team with the highest points will be declared the winner of that chapter.

Michael J. Fox

I had a huge crush on him when I was younger. I like how he acted and I thought he was cute and funny. I loved him in Spin City, Family Ties and in the Back to the Future series.

He impressed me more when he was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease he still kept a positive attitude and didn't let him stop doing things.

He will always remain one of my favorite actors.

Planned Parenthood, the organization that delivers reproductive health care, sex education and information to millions of people worldwide, has come under fire in the U.S. lately, with many politicians on both state and federal level seeking to end funding (and in a few cases succeeding).

During the month of May, you can send a specially designed Planned Parenthood vgift to your friends to help support this cause. (And if you need someone to send it to, [info]frank is always happy to receive gifts!) There are three variations ($1, $5 and $10) for you to choose from, but they'd all look good on your profile when your friends know that you stand by something so important.

Thank you all for your help in our support for Planned Parenthood. This promotion ends June 1, 2012; LiveJournal is not affiliated with Parent Parenthood. For more information about Planned Parenthood, please visit: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/

Romy D and Jennifer K, if I hadn't met them I would never had joined the marching band which I have many fond memories of.

They recruited me for band. Came to my high school in my 10th grade while I was in music class. Told us about it and since I had no plans for the summer I decided to join, thinking I was only going to be there for the summer but ended up being for 6 years.

My friend Yogita, we met in October of 1998, when we were becoming members of the Phi Sigma Sigma sorority at Queens College.

She is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She is one of the easiest people to talk to and she's always been there for me.

She got married in March of 2007 and has 2 kids, both of them girls.

Today, I will b talking about my maternl grandfather Sidney Sloman, he died when I was 9 from lung cancer.

I remeber he would smoke cigars, my mom wouldn't let him smoke in the house so he smoked on the front lawn. We the kids would hang out with him and talk with him. I remember sitting on the lawn and playing wih the leaves.

He would always visit us, we would take a walk down to the corner candy store and he would tell us we can pick two things. I would always pick a roll of Lifesavers and a Hershey bar.

He played ball with my brother and was an avid Yankee fan.

I remember he would come to the house for each of our birthdays and when we would come home he would be there to suprise us. For my 7th or 8th birthday, he bought me and my sister Cabbage Patch Dolls, they were not the official ones but they were our favorite anyway.

He made sure that all 3 of us kids had savings bonds and for every occassion we would get some.

He came to my brother's Bar Mitzvah even though he was sick didn't stay the whole time, we were happy to see bim there. A great man I miss him, never really got to know him too well, but I am greaful for the memories. :-)

How would you spend a whole day free from the Internet, TV, and mobile access? Do you think you'd find it challenging?

I've actually been througgh about a week without the internet and mobile access when I went on the cruise to Bermuda in May. I was too busy to notice it and also I knew it would of been really expensive so I stayed away from using it.

I have never really been without TV before, except when I went camping. I would find being without TV challenging becuase that is where is the way I get the news and find out the weatehr. Plus TV for me is a distraction and I kind of need the distraction even if it is just background noise.
