| I just realized that I have a Sulfur Allergy.
It explains why I have problems with some types of medications.
I was looking on the computer about lasix, a diuretic that I had problems with, I have a habit of almost blacking out when I take it. It contains Sulfur.
I also have problems with some cholestoral medications and anti-biotics becuase of that.
Early this year, I went to the gynocologist and she saw that I had whole red blood in my urine and prescribed me an anti-biotic for it. I had problems with both of the ones she prescribed and I soon went to my intenist to get a new one. He told me it contained sulfur and that was probaly why I had a problem with me and he prescribed me Levaquin.
Since I also have problems with my kisneys I also have to especially carefull with what medications that I take. Sometimes I get the extremelly rare side effects.
Effexor XR - an anti-depressent gave me a really bad kidney infection. They said it made the tubes going through the kidneys thinner or something like that. Yaz - a birth control made my blood pressure sky rocket
So a lot of times meducations are touch and go with me. If I notice a problem I generally call my doctor right away and let them know.

| On the bus ride home, there was this woman, who looked like she was in her 50's wearing a necklace with cigarettes on them. It was black chain necklace with unsmoked cigarettes. It looked like she was a smoker because she was all wrinkly and it made her look so much older then she was.
I wasn't sure why she was wearing the necklace, maybe it was a way to hold her cigarettes so she can smoke them. I wanted to take a picture of her with it on but didn't.

I hate to admit this, but I get most of my news from Facebook, Live Journal and Tweeter through all the different feeds I have.

| We have decided how we are goign to decorate the house, well most of it anyway. This is the color we will be painting the house, it is called Sebring White (Benjamin Color #1492 on the 046 color card. This is the wallpaper for the bathroom:
They picked the wallpaper for the kitchen, unfortunately I wasn't with them when they picked it and didn't get a chance to take a picture. We don't know yet what we are doing to the floors yet.
|
| Today, I saw the movie, My Sister's Keeper.
The movie was really good. Great acting and very touching, I cried a few times. The movie was great, I loved it. I liked it way more then Public Enemy (ok..I know they are two seperate movies but that was the most recent movie that I saw prior to this one).
The movie varies from the book. Normally I would say that I liked the book version of the movie, but for this one I think that the movie version was much better.
I give this move a 9. | |

| Today, I had the cat-scan. I arrived really early, my appointment wasn't until 10:30 but I arrived a little after 9. Well...they want you to be there a half hour before your appointment to fill out the necessary paperwork. I left the house pretty early like at 8:40 or something to make sure I had enough time to get there. The buses were all on time and I took a different route which ended up being much faster then my usual way.
They took me early about 10:15 and I was done by 10:40. I didn't have to drink the barrium, which I was really about, I guess they don't do it there for the kidney catscan. Instead I had to get a shot of iodine, which was the contrast. It wasn't too bad, giving me a metalic taste in my mouth for a few moments and a feeling like I was going to the bathroom (well, kind of that feeling, but not really it is hard to explain).
The test didn't take long about 10 minutes. I had to change into a hospital gown and was given a hospital braclet (which they took off when the test was over). When I was lying on the bed thing for the catscan they gave me a nice warm blanket, which I thought was really nice. I liked how they tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible. I love New York Hospital of Queens, they are great there, they don't force you to do anything you don't want to do and don't do unecessary things.

Wow, going back almost 5 years. I edited my LJ a lot, taking out some entries from 2005. This is my first entry in my LJ (I have some before that, but they were post dated) July 27th, 2005 Can I get anymore antibiotics?? Yay!!! Today was my last doctor appointment in a series of 4 for this month. To figure out what is going on with my kidneys. Now I can finally celebrate, no more urologists (well, hopefully)until next year. Whoopee!!! Well, anyway it turned out that I had a kidney infection in the left kidney, so hopefully no more antibiotics for a while. I am glad that I don't have to go back for a while, no more tests except for the occasional urine samples, which aren't too bad as long as you know how to hold the cup in the right place. Guys are so much better at this then girls (if you need me to explain why, you need to take sex ed.). I usually get nervous when I go to the doctor, especially the urologist and the dentist. Oh, that reminds me I have to go back to the dentist. Well, anyway lately I have been having problems with doctors keeping their appointments. Last week I had an appointment with my general doctor for 11:30am, to give you an idea how on time he was, the person who had the 1:15pm appointment, left before I did, but that pales in comparison to this doctor's appointment. I had my appointment for 6pm this evening, but in their appointment thingy they had me for tomorrow at 3pm. This made me even more stressed, I had to wait for them to get my results from my tests and for them to fit me into the schedule for that night, which pissed me off because it was their mistake, and they kept on asking me if I was sure that it was today, I later found the appointment card with the appointment for that day. Well, anyway... I don't have to see them for another year and I got to read, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, so hopefully it won't take me a month to read like I did with the last book.
|
| Tommorrow, I will be having my kidney catscan. This will be try #2, becuase a few weeks ago, I ate when I wasn't supposed to, so we rescheduled my appointment.
I will be having the test at 10:30am, so I shouldn't be too hungry before the test and now I know not to eat 4 hours before the test. I will be having some barium sulfate to help supress my hunger. I hate that studd, they say that it tastes like a milkshake, which I doubt it does. I don't really like milkshakes, it's too think for me, the thickest drink that I will have is orange juice with pulp.
That stuff tastes really horrible, its disgusting and they expect you to drink a litre of this stuff. I try to drink as much as I can, hey I might try to get out of drinking the stuff. This is the thing that I dread the most of this test, other then that the catscan dosen't bother me.
Well, anyway the catscan is to see if anything changed with the kidney. Since they aren't too sure what I have is something new or a continuation of a problem that I had when I was younger.

| Does anyone know of a good email service. I am thinking about trying a new one. Currently I am using gmail.
Thanks in advance! | |

| YEARBOOK POST. Post a picture of yourself in the comments. Let's see how beautiful we are. This idea was stolen from: az_starshine This pic is from my 33rd birthday celebration. Which was at jonchiz67's apartment. | |

| Yesterday, I saw the movie, Public Enemy.
The movie was ok a little boring though, I thought the movie was going to be a lot better. It was boring at times and there were a few good action scenes. The acting was good. Jonhnny Depp did a good job.
All in all I give the movie a 7.

| I can't wait for the Henna Penna to arrive, playing with henna will be so much easier. This is located on my inner right ankle. It is supposed to be a heart sorrounded by dots, but the henna started running. | |

| Today my sister naomi and I went to our local Benjamin Moore and looked at wall paper and paint. Our favorite is this one:
This design also comes in green, yellow, beige or pink.
If we get this wallpaper we are leaning towards a pale blue paint for the ceiling.
( Another wallpaper pick )

| My dad, is going to be pretty much be redoing the house.
He will be painting the upstairs hallway, the entrance way to the house, dining room and the basement stairway.
He will will also be redoing to kitchen, downstairs bathroom and the living room.
Kitchen - replacing the flooring and the wall paper. Repainting the ceiling and get new lights. Living room: repainting and replacing the flooring (he's not too sure if he wants carpet or hardwood flooring), then maybe get new seating. My sister wants a lounge chair so we might get that Downstairs bathroom: flooring, wall paper and repainting. I am not too sure what is goign to happen if anything to the wall tiles.
Today, my sister Naomi and I are going to be looking at wallpaper, I will try to take pics of it I remember and if I can do so and post them later.
My sister already has a paint in mond for the kitchen (I think), which is a whitish green (I haven't seen it yet, but have been told about it) and the paint number is 1492 (my sister toldme this when we were hanging up the wash last night and reminded me of what happned yesterday in work with the Chistopher Columbus guy and I told her the story and soon after wrote it up in my journal)

| Home tattoos the safe way with Henna Penna If you're taking part in an Indian celebration, have a kid who wants a tattoo but is waaaaaaay too young, or you're just a mad crazy fan of henna, then Henna Penna is for you. As the name strongly implies, this product is henna... in a pen. Which is a godsend, as anyone who's tried to do anything with henna (multiple hair dyes, here) knows how messy the darn thing can be. Henna Penna pens are available in a range of colors including emerald and traditional brown and black, and can be used with stencils or freehand. At $25.75 per pen (from Nonstop Bazaar) they're not dirt cheap, but they are all-natural and not tested on animals, so you your kids can play without fear. (Although I must advise some caution: designs fade, but can't be erased, so not something to play with on the face, perhaps...) This would have kept me quiet for hours when I was younger (hey, it still might today) and let's face it, it's a bit more fun than the last pen I wrote about. Via Crafty Crafty, where they have made a rather nifty video about the whole process. http://www.popgadget.net/2008/04/if_youre_going.php | |

| I have been telling the kids at work that I have been uusing henna. I have also been showing the henna tattoos to them. A few of them has asked why I just don't get a real one.
I told them that it isn't permanent. If I like the henna design and it fades I can always reapply the henna, but if I get tired of the design I can alway let it fade and start over again. You can't do that with a real tattoo.
A tattoo is forever. If you want it removed you have to remove it with a laser which is a painfull and expensive procedure. They use needles to put on the tattoo and it hurts. Henna is all natural, it might smell and is messy, but thats ok with me, after a while I will get used to it.

| I got this from jokes. Enjoy! The Attitude family who lived in Missouri had two sons. One was a complete optimist and the other a complete pessimist--both twins otherwise. It seemed nothing could change the outlook of the two boys. One Xmas holiday, the parents decided they would do something different. So when it came time to open the presents, they escorted their pessimist son into a separate room where his presents were to be opened. There were hundreds of beautifully wrapped gifts stacked clear to the ceiling. The pessimist began unwrapping them. Tearing and ripping wrapping paper and throwing it in every direction. Just as quickly as he would unwrap one present, he would move on to the next giving no thought of thankfulness to the one he'd just opened. Finally, he had unwrapped the last one and exclaimed: "Is that all I get? I never get anything that I really want. Why is it nothing is ever right for me? I'm not happy!" The second boy, the optimist, was then escorted into another room where he was to receive his Xmas. When he entered, the room was piled high with horse shit. There was horse shit on the floor. There was horse shit on the furniture. There was even horse shit on the walls. The parents were curious because the boy was smiling from ear to ear at seeing all the horse shit and not a wrapped present in sight. "Why are you smiling so much? You appear to be happy!" They exclaimed. The boy looked around and exclaimed: "Well, it is obvious with all this horse shit there has to be a pony here somewhere." The moral: When all you see in life is horse shit, just realize that there has to be a pony somewhere if you just look for it. May all success, joy, happiness, peace, abundance and love be yours and mine | |

| Does anyone know about Henna Penna or Henna Pen? It is pretty much like a marker but instead of ink it has henna. The henna lasts a few days and dosen't really need too long to dry. I have used it before, years ago.
Does anyone know of a good place to get it?
Thanks in advance for any help. :)
|
| Today, I bought some spray adhesive bandage, this is going to be used to help protect the henna, which I read some where that is really usefull to help protect the henna tatto. Here's a pic, of one of the few times where I had henna in an area for everyone to see, most of the time I have it hidden. This was at my friend Yogita's wedding in March of '07. The baby in the icon I am using in this post is her daughter MJ. | |

| Last night my dad came home from Baltimore, my brother Joseph drove him home. He was also home in time to drive me home from work, which was pretty good. He didn't come into the library like he usually does, so I wasn't really sure if he was picking me up, until I listened to my voicemail messages, where in one of them he said he was outside in the car. When we arrived home, my sister and brother was walking Ralph (the dog, points to icon). Went insie put down my stuff refilled the water bowl and went outside to see if I can see them. They were just across the street. They came across the street to meet me and I got my first real life glimpse of Ralph. He looks smaller then he does in the pictures, but he still looks cute anyway. :) I was with Ralph for about 10/15 mins (they coudn't stay that long becuase Joe wanted to be in Boston tonight), in all that time he didn't bark. I think he might have growled once, I am not sure if it was that though becuase it was so quiet. My brother had him doing a few tricks: sit, lie down and stand. Ralph did each trick flawlessly and was awarded each time with a doggie treat. Joe even had him roll over once, Ralph did it with a little caoxing. It was great to meet Ralph and to see my brother again. I haven't had a chance to see him since his wedding in June of 2008. I miss my big brother. Presenting Joe and Ralph: | |
